How does this period management treatment work?Your doctor can prescribe you primolut N (norethisterone) which works in a similar way to the hormone progesterone. It works by delaying your period until the tablets are stopped.
How to take your period management treatmentYou will need to take one primolut N tablet three times a day, starting three days before your period is due to commence. Your period will be delayed whilst you are taking the tablets and should start 2 -3 days after you stop taking them.
What are the potential side-effects (contraindications) of primolut N?All medication and antibiotics can cause side effects. Your period management treatment can cause nausea, worsening of epilepsy, worsening of migraines and skin problems. However, not everyone will experience them and the side effects are usually mild. The leaflet accompanying the treatment will list some of the rarer side-effects.
When answering your medical questionnaire for period management treatment it is very important that you answer the questions truthfully to ensure your doctor has a full picture of your medical history before they prescribe you treatment.
How effective is this period management treatment?Primolut N is usually very effective if you follow your Doctor's prescribing instructions.
