How does this male thrush treatment work?Your doctor can prescribe you fluconazole as a single dose tablet. The advantage of using tablets is that it will stop any internal yeast infection, which a cream would not treat. This tablet treatment may be more effective, in some cases, than pessaries and creams. A tablet is also less messy to use.

What are the potential side-effects (contraindications) of this male thrush treatment?All medication and antibiotics can cause side effects. Your male thrush treatment can cause diarrhoea, headaches, flatulence and sickness, but these are rare. The leaflet accompanying the treatment will list some of the rarer side-effects.
