About Clenil Modulite Inhalers
Description
Clenil Modulite inhalers contain the active ingredient beclometasone dipropionate. This belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids (which are often referred to simply as steroids). Each puff contains 50, 100, 200 or 250 micrograms of beclometasone dipropionate.
Suitability
Do not use Clenil Modulite Inhalers:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to beclometasone dipropionate or any of the other ingredients listed in the patient information leaflet or to any other medicines used to treat asthma
- to treat a sudden attack of breathlessness, as it will not help - use a quick-acting 'reliever' inhaler for this purpose and carry it with you at all times
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Important Interactions
You must tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take other medicines. Some medicines may increase the effects of Clenil Modulite and your doctor may wish to monitor you carefully if you are taking these medicines (including some medicines for HIV: ritonavir, cobicistat).

- thrush in the mouth and throat
- hoarse voice or a sore throat or tongue

When should I replace my inhaler?
When the indicator shows 20 doses left, you should request a new inhaler from your doctor. This will ensure you have a replacement in good time. When the '0' appears centrally in the window the medicine has run out and you should discard the inhaler. Your inhaler may feel like there are still some contents remaining but any remaining puffs may not contain enough medicine and should not be used.
