Qvar Inhalers contain a corticosteroid and are used to prevent the symptoms of mild, moderate, or severe asthma, in patients who require regular treatment. They are preventer inhalers. Qvar comes in 50 and 100 microgram strengths and is available as 3 different inhaler types - Easi-Breathe, Autohaler, Aerosol. The different inhaler types contain the same medicine, but the way you operate each inhaler will be different.
All our products are genuine UK medicines and are dispensed by our partner pharmacy based in the UK.
Qvar Inhalers contain the active ingredient beclometasone dipropionate. This belongs to a group of medicines called inhaled corticosteroids. These inhalers work deep in your lungs to make breathing easier by reducing the inflammation, swelling and irritation in the airways. This type of medicine is known as a preventer. It needs to be taken regularly every day, even if you have no symptoms.
Do not use Qvar Inhalers if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to beclometasone dipropionate or any of the other ingredients listed in the patient information leaflet.
If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.
You must tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take other medicines, in particular:
All medication can cause side effects. We have only listed a few to be aware of. Details of all side effects, including rare side effects to be aware of, are listed in the patient information leaflet (PIL). When completing your medical questionnaire, it is very important that you answer the questions truthfully. This is to ensure your doctor has a full picture of your medical history before prescribing. List all medicines you are already taking, including non-prescription and herbal medicines.
Other preventer inhalers are available, but you should only request the preventer inhaler that has previously been prescribed to you by your regular GP.
Do not take medicines after the expiry date stamped on the pack. Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children.
Medicines are only intended to be used by the person they are prescribed for. Do not give your prescribed medicine to anybody else, even if they have the same symptoms as you. Medicines can be harmful if used by anybody other than the person they have been prescribed for.
