About Seretide Inhalers

Description

Seretide Inhalers contain the active ingredients salmeterol and fluticasone propionate. Salmeterol is a long-acting bronchodilator and fluticasone propionate is a corticosteroid. They help prevent breathing problems such as asthma.

Suitability

Do not use Seretide Inhalers if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to salmeterol or fluticasone propionate or any of the other ingredients listed in the patient information leaflet.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Important Interactions

You must tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take other medicines, in particular:

beta-blockers (such as atenolol, propranolol and sotalol)
medicines to treat infections (such as ketoconazole, itraconazole and erythromycin) including some medicines for HIV treatment (such as ritonavir, cobicistat containing products)
corticosteroids (by mouth or by injection)
diuretics - also known as water tablets - used to treat high blood pressure
other bronchodilators (such as salbutamol)
xanthine medicines - these are often used to treat asthma

Side Effects

headache
thrush (sore, creamy-yellow, raised patches) in the mouth and throat
aching, swollen joints and muscle pain.
muscle cramps

Looking after your medicine
