Mycoplasma genitalium (Mgen) is a common sexually transmitted infection that can cause urethritis in men and has been linked to cervicitis (inflammation of the cervix) and pelvic inflammatory disease in women. If left untreated, it can lead to infertility in women in severe cases.
Anytime Doctor provides a regulated specialist service for people who have tested positive for mycoplasma or patients who have a sexual partner who has mycoplasma and have therefore been exposed to mycoplasma. If in doubt, please order a postal test kit before requesting treatment. We also recommend a test of cure (TOC) after you have completed your treatment, in line with the most recent guidelines.

Just 3 simple steps
Most people do not experience any noticeable symptoms. If symptoms do present, they can include:
This treatment is typically very effective at treating mycoplasma if you follow your doctor's prescribing instructions. You should also have a test of cure (TOC) 5 weeks after you have finished your treatment to ensure it has been successful. This can be done via Anytime Doctor or via your local sexual health service.
You must not have unprotected sex (sex without using a barrier method) for at least seven days after you have finished your course of mycoplasma treatment. This is to ensure you do not pass mycoplasma to your partner(s). It is also recommended that your partner(s) are tested and receive treatment to prevent reinfection if they have already been exposed to mycoplasma. You should abstain from sexual intercourse with your partner(s) until seven days after you have both completed your treatment.
If your partner has been exposed to mycoplasma, they should also receive treatment to prevent cross- or reinfection of mycoplasma. If unsure, they can order a mycoplasma test kit. Should your partner also wish to use the Anytime Doctor mycoplasma service, they are required to complete their own online consultation.
